What Dishy is

Dishy is a free app with two halves: menus, hours and ingredients published by schools, and ratings, notes and photos posted by verified students there. It is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any school, dining service or trademark holder; school names and colors only identify the campus you are viewing.

Accuracy and allergens

Menus, hours, ingredients, allergens and nutrition come from each school’s dining service; Dishy reformats them without verifying them. Kitchens substitute, halls change hours, and published data can be wrong.

If a food allergy or intolerance affects your safety, treat Dishy as a convenience, not a medical tool. Always confirm with dining hall staff before eating. Nutrition figures are the dining service’s estimates, not dietary advice; ratings, notes and photos are students’ opinions, not today’s kitchen.

Who can use Dishy

Browsing needs no account. Posting needs a verified school email: Dishy sends a one-time code and you type it back. The check is on the domain, so a department or college address works too.

Dishy is intended for students and is not directed at children under 13. You are responsible for everything posted from your account.

Community content

You can post a rating out of five, a short note, and photos of the food.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Nothing hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual, deceptive or unlawful. No pictures of people, or of anything but the food in front of you. No advertising, spam, links, contact details, impersonation, including of Dishy, or anything that is not yours to share.

How that is held up:

Every photo is approved by a person before it appears.
A rating publishes straight away; a first written note does not. Early notes are held until a person reads them; once a few are approved, later ones go up as you post them. Edits go back through the checks.
Some language is refused outright, in notes and display names alike.
Content reported by enough separate people is hidden automatically while a person reviews it.
Every rating, note and photo carries a report action, and we act on them. Reporting needs a verified account; without one, email us.
You can block the person behind a post.Their ratings, notes and photos stop appearing for you, and they are not told; your blocked list is in Settings › Reviews & photos.

Dishy may withhold or remove content, and may end an account’s ability to post.

Your content

What you post stays yours, and you confirm you have the right to share it. By posting you grant Dishy a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, copy, reformat and display it in the app and, for an approved photo, at a plain web address anyone with it can view.

Delete your own rating, note or photo any time: it is withdrawn immediately and the stored copy is erased after about thirty days. For anything already published the license is perpetual.

Ending your account

In My Dishy, use the menu on your student card. Deleting your account:

removes your verification and profile, including email address and display name;
withdraws photos still waiting to be checked, and any rejected ones;
leaves approved photos, ratings and notes on the dish, with nothing linking them to you;
leaves on-device settings alone: favorites, filters and preferences stay until you delete the app.

You can verify again later; signing out, from the same menu, is not deleting.

Acceptable use

Do not disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service, scrape or resell its data, use another student’s account, or share a verification code.

Availability

Dishy is provided “as is”, without warranties, and campuses, features and availability can change. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using it.
